PCI reported for Core Collection journals only
From 30 September 2026, PCI, the POSI Citation Impact, is a Core Collection indicator. It is reported for Core Collection journals only: journals that applied for certification and passed the PQF editorial evaluation.
Journals outside the Core Collection no longer show a PCI on their journal pages, in the evaluation panel, in the Citation Ranking tables or in the data files published with each journal record. Their citation performance continues to be shown by PNCI and PCS.
PCI has never determined a rank, quartile or zone. The official Citation Ranking is based on PNCI, so no rank, Citation Quartile or POSI Zone changes. PQF, AJR, PNCI, PCS and the 2026 Citation Ranking are otherwise as published.
A Core Collection journal shows a PCI once it has citable items in the two-year PCI window. The indicator is described on the citation indicators page and in the methodology.
